Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Пастушок, Водяна курочка, Плиска біла, Пісочник малий, Ластівка берегова, Рибалочка блакитний, Набережник палеарктичний and Гоголь зеленоголовий.
