Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Пірникоза велика, Лебідь-шипун, Лунь очеретяний and in some years Бугай водяний,Пірникоза сірощока and Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Шуліка рудий , Дятел малий, Ополовник звичайний, або синиця довгохвоста and Берестянка звичайна. During migration periods large flocks of Гуска сіра , Казарка канадська , Крижень and Чирянка мала stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Канюк звичайний, Зимняк, Шуліка рудий, Шуліка чорний, Скопа and Орлан-білохвіст.
