Boulevard along a river estuary with muddy and sandy areas, in some corners covered by patches of marsh. Many birds come to rest here at high tide.
Ría del Burgo is a tidal area of mudflats and marshy areas formed by the mouth of the Mero River. The area is great for birding, especially for the observation of coastal birds. Both for the diversity of species (it is possible to observe several dozen in one walk) and for the possibility of having them very close. Many birds use the area as a high tide refuge. Its landscaped and urbanized environment also hosts a large community of urban birds. Among the birds you can see are Чапля сіра, Кулик-сорока, Мала біла чапля, Гуска сіра, Казарка чорна, Пісочник великий, Грицик малий, Набережник палеарктичний, Кульон середній, Крем’яшник звичайний, Побережник чорногрудий, Клуша, Мартин скельний and Косар білий.

The Ría del Burgo estuary is located 10 km south of the city of A Coruña. The area has numerous car parks and a constant bus service that connects it to several nearby destinations, including the city of A Coruña. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. The proposed route (about 3 km one way) runs entirely along a promenade. While you walk along it, keep an eye out for bicycle traffic and respect their lane. If you have the opportunity to choose the time of your visit, the ideal time is two or three hours before the maximum high tide (see the link to the tide table below). Of course, do not enter the estuary itself: you would immediately sink into its muddy bottom!
