Close to the village of Svit you can find a series of gravel pits near Batizovce. The lakes are mainly used by anglers and attract a lot of birds. The Batizovské gravel pits also offer great views of the Tatras and the Podtatranska basin. Among the birds you can encounter are Підорлик малий, Скопа, Мартин жовтоногий, Чирянка мала, Чирянка велика, Вівсянка звичайна, Вівсянка очеретяна, Щедрик європейський, Плиска гірська, Трав'янка чорноголова and Кропив’янка прудка.

Access
The area is located 10 km west of the city of Poprad. You can get to the gravel pits by car and explore the area on foot. Note: Some gravel pits are still actively in use and not accessible.
