Description
The Tamiš embankment near Sefkerin (part of the wider stretch from Opovo to Pančevo) presents a mosaic of different habitats, offering opportunities to observe marshland and bushy grassland/farmland species simultaneously from one spot, both during the breeding and wintering seasons. This area also contains some of the best remaining lowland riparian gallery forests near Belgrade, with old poplars and willows. There are high concentrations of some locally interesting species not that often seen near Belgrade, most notably Кропив’янка рябогруда, Берестянка бліда, Кобилочка річкова and Горлиця звичайна. There are also a couple of breeding pairs of Орлан-білохвіст in the area, observed regularly at this location, as well as Жовна чорна. Come winter, you are very likely to see Лунь польовий, Сірий (Великий) сорокопуд, and flocks of В’юрок and Снігур звичайний.
