Description
Slano Kopovo is dry from March to November. But from late fall onwards throughout the winter and early spring the reserve is full of water and thousands of Журавель сірий, geese and many others birds gather here. Birds like Журавель сірий, Гуска білолоба, Казарка червоновола and Гуска сіра are regular visitors to this place. There have been some records of some more rare species of geese like Гуска мала, Казарка чорна and Tundra Bean Goose. Also, there are smaller northern visitors to be seen here, like Пуночка снігова, Чикотень, Сірий (Великий) сорокопуд and some bigger ones like Лебідь-кликун and Лебідь чорнодзьобий. Also during winter some ducks can be seen like Крижень, Чирянка мала, Нерозень and Шилохвіст.

Access
For Slano Kopovo you need a car. Nearest city is Novi Bečej, and from there Slano Kopovo is about 7 kilometers away. The lake can be accessed from north and from south. From both sides best is to park near the main road and continue on foot. In autumn and winter, boots are recommended. Driving around the lake on dirt tracks is prohibited.
It is possible to walk around the lake using circular path. If coming in morning, the best direction is clockwise, so that the sun is in the back most of the time. There are 3 bird hides/towers on the lake. Two are on the western side and one on the eastern side. The first one is 300m south of the visitor center, covering the waterbirds. The second one on the south-west shore, covering the shorebirds. The third one is actually behind the second smaller lake further on th east and is covering reed and grassland species.
