Description
In summer, Frognerparken is a good spot for the resident, urban species, like Плиска біла , Зяблик звичайний , Щиглик звичайний and Дрізд чорний. In addition, the ponds will hold various ducks and maybe also Водяна курочка, Набережник палеарктичний and Плиска гірська. Лебідь-шипун breeds here.
In winter, the ponds usually have open water, which is good for wintering ducks. Крижень are of course abundant, while Гоголь зеленоголовий and Чернь чубата are usual guests. Чирянка мала and Свищ євразійський also regularly winter here. Always check for rarer species, especially in late fall and early spring. Чапля сіра is also a common sight. Gulls also frequent the park during the winter months, due to people feeding the ducks. Wintering Мартин звичайний and Мартин сивий can be found, as well as rarer species. Both Мартин полярний and Мартин гренландський have been reported from the park, and one Мартин делаверський was found here in the spring of 2001.
Follow Frognerelva south west to Skøyen and look for Пронурок біловолий during winter.

Access
Frognerparken is easily accessible by bus, tram and subway. Majorstuen is the closest hub, a mere five minute walk away. If you exit to the south west towards Skøyen, you will find both train, tram and bus to take you back to Oslo. Driving is not recommended, as parking may be difficult and expensive.
