Zandafgraving Voorne Heerewaarden has a beautiful river landscape with wet, wild parts. It is a nature reserve located along the river Maas. Not only the former gravel pits are interesting, but also the parts along the Maas and in the direction of Fort Voorne. Birds you can find in the area include Рибалочка блакитний, Крех великий, Сипуха, Сич хатній, Широконіска північна, Галагаз євразійський, Зозуля звичайна and Пірникоза мала.
