Nature reserve with pine forest, heath and drifting sand. With typical birds of heathland and forest. The reserve is part of the Kempen-Broek Cross-Border Park.
The Tungelerwallen is a drifting sand and heath area north of the valley of the stream Tungelroyse Beek. Nice area for walking. The pine forest alternates with areas of heath and small open areas with drifting sand. An attempt is being made to return more sand and heathland to the area by regularly removing trees and shrubs in various places. Birds you can see here include Жовна чорна, Зелений дятел, Жайворонок лісовий, Щеврик лісовий, Золотомушка жовточуба, Синиця чубата, Дрімлюга звичайний and Трав'янка чорноголова.

Het dennenbos wordt hier afgewisseld met stukken heide en kleine open stukken met stuifzand. Tungelerwallen nature reserve is located between the towns of Altweerterheide and Stramproy, close to the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. You can park in the small parking lot in the forest on the road of Wijffelterbroekdijk. Click on the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. There are several trails through the area. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 6 km and also partly runs along the beautiful meandering stream Tungelroyse Beek. The part of the walk along the Tungelroyse Beek can be quite muddy during wet periods. The area along the Tungelroyse Beek is grazed by Scottish Highland cattle, please keep your distance from the animals.
