Description
The different habitats of Vockestaert attract a variety of birds. The large fields of reed attract all kinds of reed loving birds like Кобилочка солов’їна , Вівсянка очеретяна , Очеретянка лучна , Очеретянка середземноморська , but in the area you can also find Трав’янка лучна , Трав'янка чорноголова , Кам’янка звичайна , Синьошийка , Зеленяк звичайний , Щиглик звичайний , Зяблик звичайний , Вівчарик весняний and Вівчарик-ковалик.
There are also some small and larger waters in the area which attract all kinds of waterbirds. The combination with dense reed fields makes it prime habitat for shy and rare inhabitants like Бугайчик and Бугай водяний which have been spotted here.
Then there are also meadows which in the spring harbor many meadowbirds such as Чайка чубата , different types of Sandpipers, Грицик великий , Коловодник звичайний , Кулик-сорока and Жайворонок польовий. Recently the rare Гуска роса was spotted here as well.
Of course there will be many more birds not named here, but that is something to find out for yourself! Summarized, it is a good birding area which might surprise you in a positive way!

Access
The area is very accessible and can be reached by car, bike and by foot. If you come by car there is a small parking lot closeby in the area (see the P on the map), otherwise you might want to park somewhere in the residential area that is adjacent.
