Description

The breeding wall for Ластівка берегова has been discovered by the birds and is used yearly by a good number of pairs. The pond has often waders like Крем’яшник звичайний , Побережник чорногрудий and Коловодник звичайний . There can be a variety of ducks, like Широконіска північна , Нерозень and in winter Свищ євразійський . During migration the area will be visited by Плиска біла , Жовта плиска (including the rare Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi) and Western Yellow Wagtail (flavissima) ) and Щеврик лучний.

Nederlands: Een kleine vijver voor steltlopers en eenden tussen twee dijken met een betonnen muur met nestgaten voor Ластівка берегова. De broedmuur voor Ластівка берегова is inmiddels ontdekt door de vogels en wordt jaarlijks door een flink aantal paren gebruikt. De vijver heeft vaak steltlopers zoals Крем’яшник звичайний, Побережник чорногрудий en Коловодник звичайний. Er kan een verscheidenheid aan eenden zijn, zoals Широконіска північна, Нерозень en in de winter Свищ євразійський. Tijdens de trek wordt het gebied bezocht door Плиска біла, Жовта плиска (inclusief de zeldzame Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi) en Western Yellow Wagtail (flavissima)) en Щеврик лучний .

Je kunt eenvoudig het gehele gebiedje overzien vanaf (de weg langs) de IJsdijk. Deze is toegankelijk voor auto's, fietsen en voetgangers.

The holes in the Sand Martin wall are closed every winter by volunteers from Vogelwerkgroep Texel (www.vwgtexel.nl), so that the Ластівка берегова can dig its own nest passages again in the spring to breed.
