Description
There are a few islands off the coast. This is where a lot of birds come. In April, sometimes thousands of Брижач spend the night here. The breeding birds on the islands are all kinds of gulls, ducks and greylag geese. There are always many birds along the edges of the islands and on the water between the islands and the coast: Баклан великий, Пірникоза велика, Чернь чубата, Попелюх звичайний, Широконіска північна, Чирянка мала. Sleeping place of Крячок каспійський and Косар білий. In the reeds breed birds like Синьошийка, Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата, Вівсянка очеретяна and Лунь очеретяний. Nederlands: Ondiepe baai aan de rand van het IJsselmeer met schraalgrasland, riet, ruigten en drie zandplaten voor de oever. Voor de kust liggen een paar eilandjes. Daar kwamen en komen bijzonder veel vogels op af. In april overnachten hier soms duizenden Брижач . De broedvogels op de eilandjes zijn alle soorten meeuwen, eenden en grauwe ganzen. Langs de randen van de eilandjes en op het water tussen de eilandjes en de kust zitten altijd veel vogels: Баклан великий, Пірникоза велика, Чернь чубата, Попелюх звичайний, Широконіска північна, Чирянка мала. Slaaplaats van Крячок каспійський Косар білий. In het riet broeden onder anderen blauwborst, baardmannetje, rietgors en bruine kiekendief. Opmerkelijk is dat de fuut in dit gebied in kolonievorm broedt. In de trektijd ook vele soorten steltlopers en de ijsvogel zit wel eens bij de hut.

Access
The Bocht van Molkwerum is located between the towns of Hindeloopen and Molkwerum on the lake IJsselmeer. Park at the entrance gate at the bottom of the dike. Click on the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. Walk over the dike and grass path (200 meter) to bird hide Swan.

Nederlands: De Bocht van Molkwerum ligt tussen Hindeloopen en Molkwerum aan het IJsselmeer. Parkeren bij toegangshekje onder aan de dijk. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Wandeling van 200 meter naar kijkhut over de dijk en graspad naar vogelkijkhut Swan (zwaan).
