Bergumermeer - Soestpolder has vast reed banks with open water and is a good place for birdwatching. Expected bird species are Очеретянка ставкова, Очеретянка лучна, Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата, Пастушок but also Крячок чорний, Лунь очеретяний and meadow birds. Due to the wide overview there is also a chance of birds of prey such as Скопа, Орлан-білохвіст, Сапсан, Підсоколик великий. Different species of ducks rest and forage on the lake.
