Description
The raptor watchpoint near Kalloni provides a great view over the valley southwards that mainly raptors and storks tend to follow northwards during their spring migration. You need to have a bit of luck, but if you're there during a peak migration event, hundreds and hundreds of raptors and storks can be observed. Common species that can be seen are harriers, like Лунь лучний and even Лунь степовий, storks, like Лелека чорний and Лелека білий, Канюк степовий, Steppe Buzzard, Змієїд блакитноногий, Осоїд євразійський, Яструб коротконогий, Яструб великий, Підсоколик великий, Кібчик червононогий, Підсоколик елеонори, Боривітер степовий and Сапсан. Scarcer species can sometimes be seen within flocks of other raptors, like Підорлик малий, Орел-карлик яструбиний, Орел-карлик малий and Могильник східний.
The area surrounding the viewpoint is also good for typical inland species, like Скеляр синій, Кам’янка іспанська and Вівсянка сивоголова.
