Description
The lagoon is the 'waterlily lake' mentioned by Gerald Durrell in My Family and Other Animals. However it appeared lifeless on my September visit. The island has 3 beaches, accessible by car, and good scrub and heath habitat favoured by warblers, Просянка, Сплюшка євразійська and Горлиця звичайна. A pair of Беркут were hunting over the wooded hills on return journey to Roda. Other birds you can enconter are Даурська ластівка, Серпокрилець білочеревий, Ластівка скельна, Кропив'янка червоновола, Кропив’янка середземноморська and Кропив'янка співоча.
