Description
Usedomer Strand is located near Peenemünde. From the beach you can easily observe migrating and resting birds. In winter, the Baltic Sea is full of sea ducks (like Синьга, Морянка, Турпан, Чернь морська) divers (like Пірникоза велика, , Пірникоза сірощока) and swans. Loons (Гагара червоношия, Гагара чорношия) migrate across the Baltic Sea.
In spring, groups of songbirds fly parallel to the dune forest to their breeding areas. From August onwards, individual Limikols (such as Побережник білий, Побережник чорногрудий, Побережник ісландський, Кулик-сорока) are on the beach and terns are on the water. From the smallest (Крячок малий) to the largest (Крячок каспійський) everything is possible. In late autumn the geese (Гуска білолоба, Казарка білощока, Tundra Bean Goose) fly to their resting areas. Орлан-білохвіст is often observed in this area.
