In Schellbruch reserve close to the city of Lübeck you find different types of habitats with a great variety of birds in a rather small area (although the complete reserve is not small at all. The reserve is managed by the NABU (German organisation for protecting nature) and a local organic farmer.
Good all year through but best in late spring. Fantastic place for Синьошийка, Кобилочка солов’їна, Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата, Орлан-білохвіст and Woodpeckers. In autumn also great flocks of geese in some years. Пісочник малий and Чайка чубата occur as well as Рибалочка блакитний. Winter is good for Сірий (Великий) сорокопуд, Крех малий, Крех великий and sometimes Бугай водяний.
