The pond of Rixdorfer Teich is popular with typical urban birds like Ополовник звичайний, або синиця довгохвоста, Вільшанка and Сойка звичайна, as well as waterfowl like Лебідь-шипун, Мандаринка and Водяна курочка.
Some of the usual Велика синиця are very used to humans and will even take seeds from the hand. There is a family of Канюк звичайний that live in the park, and one or two are usually hanging around in the trees near the pond. In summer many Ластівка сільська circle over the pond, and in autumn and winter there are always lots of Щиглик звичайний in the alders next to the pond.

Access
Rixdorfer Teich is located in the Neukölln district of Berlin, within the Hasenheide park. Closest access is by bus to Friedhöfe Columbiadamm (M43). The bus stop is marked with a star on the map. U-Bahn access is less convenient, but only a 10 minute walk away, either on the other end of Hasenheide park at U Südstern (U7) or U Boddinstrasse (U8). The pond is also easily accessible by bike.
