Description
Polder Werre once was a shallow bay in the Saaler Bodden, an inland lake on the Baltic Sea. But Polder Werre, was cut off by dykes and has since been used as grassland. Polder Werre is now being renatured with a permanent overflow area. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Підсоколик малий, Боривітер звичайний, Яструб малий, Лунь очеретяний, Ворона сіра, Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата, Лунь польовий, Шпак звичайний, Трав'янка чорноголова, Коноплянка, Горобець польовий, Сивка звичайна, Побережник чорногрудий, Сивка морська, Чайка чубата, Свищ євразійський, Рибалочка блакитний, Чепура велика, Лебідь-шипун, Коловодник чорний and Крячок каспійський.

Access
The Saaler Bodden forms the southwestern part of the Darss-Zingst Bodden Chain and lies east of the Fischland peninsula about 30 kilometres northeast of Rostock. Polder Werre is located between the villages of Born auf dem Darß and Ahrenshoop. Parking is possible near the Regenbogen Camp campsite. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can make a circular walk of 7 km around the polder.
