Description

Neßmersiel is a small coastal resort between Norddeich and Dornumersiel. The Neßmersiel storage polders and the salt marshes are very popular breeding and resting places for a wide variety of water and wading bird species. A bird observation tower is located on the 13 hectare reservoir, surrounded by salt marshes and meadows. It enables undisturbed insights of waders and water birds. A visit is worthwhile here at any time of the year. You can regularly see Чайка чубата, Кулик-сорока, Гуска сіра, Коловодник великий, Коловодник звичайний, Лебідь-шипун, Галагаз євразійський, Баклан великий, Косар білий, Чепура велика, Кульон великий, Чоботар синьоногий, Чапля сіра and many other wading and water birds.

Access

The approach to the Nessmersiel reservoir is via Strandstrasse 26553 Dornum. Parking spaces are available at the port. The reservoir and the salt marshes can only be reached on foot.
