The Ilkerbruch is an approximately 125 hectare large nature reserve North-West of the city of Wolfsburg.
The Ilkerbruch consists of larger water areas with shallow water areas and reed beds, wet grasslands and alder forests. The wetland is a bird resting place during migration. Among others Баранець звичайний, Орлан-білохвіст, Зозуля звичайна, Лелека білий, Шуліка рудий and duck species such as Чирянка велика and birds like Журавель сірий occur.
An approximately six-kilometre-long nature trail leads around the Ilkerbruch nature reserve. There are stations with information boards. Visitors can observe waterfowl on several observation platforms and from a 12 m high observation tower. The bird observation platforms and hides can be accessed by walking and cycling.
