Description
After gravel mining ended in Freudenthal, the lakes became an important refuge for water birds. The area, which is now protected, offers suitable resting opportunities for many migratory birds and breeding opportunities for water-bound species in particular. The area is characterized by large groups of Баклан великий, Лиска звичайна and Попелюх звичайний, but rarities such as Баклан малий, Крячок каспійський and Лебідь-кликун have also been observed.
