Eriskircher Ried is an area where many water birds (e.g. diving ducks and swans) overwinter. Also an important breeding area. Several platforms for bird watching are available. Among the birds you can see are Огар рудий, Лебідь чорнодзьобий, Лебідь-кликун, Рибалочка блакитний, Чернь морська, Чернь червонодзьоба, Гоголь зеленоголовий, Чирянка велика, Чирянка мала, Широконіска північна, Пірникоза чорношия, Гагара чорношия, Гагара червоношия, Кульон великий, Пісочник малий, Коловодник болотяний, Коловодник великий, Коловодник звичайний, Брижач, Квак звичайний, Крячок чорний, Крячок білощокий, Жовна сива, Шуліка рудий, Лунь очеретяний and Скопа.
Good spots to observe birds are: 1) the platform next to Strandbad, 2) the mouth of Schussen 3) the platform in the middle of the area, 4) platform at north end of the area.
