Exploring the Sentier des Américains trail allows you to encounter a number of species from the rainforests and the understory. It also provides a better understanding of French Guiana's historical heritage, particularly during colonization and the Second World War.

Access
Sentier des Américains is located west of the town of Matoury. There are two trailheads. The first is located at the far end of the Désirée district: 4°50'41.5"N 52°20'54.7"W. The second starts from the Concorde district: 4°50'23.3"N 52°21'06.4"W. Both trailheads are indicated with a P on the map.
