Description

The peat bogs and ponds of Tourbière de la Harelle extend over more than 188 hectares of natural environments. It is a sensitive natural area and consequently preservation and scientific monitoring actions are carried out in order to inventory the ecological potential. 142 species of birds have been recorded, 83 of which nest in the area. Among the birds you can encounter are Вівсянка очеретяна, Очеретянка лучна, Кобилочка-цвіркун, Жайворонок польовий, Трав'янка чорноголова, Кропив’янка чорноголова, Кропив’янка садова, Лелека білий, Підсоколик великий, Зозуля звичайна, Очеретянка середземноморська, Пірникоза велика and Чайка чубата. Also 35 species of mammals and 612 species of insects live in the area.

Français: La Tourbière d’Heurteauville est un site naturel exceptionnel de la vallée de la Seine et est un des sites les plus riches de Normandie en termes de biodiversité. C’est un espace naturel sensible et en conséquence des actions de préservation et de suivi scientifiques sont menés afin d’inventorier le potentiel écologique de ce site majeur.

Plus de 340 plantes dont 10 espèces sont strictement protégées. 35 espèces de mammifères dont 13 espèces de chauve-souris. 33 espèces de mollusques. 142 espèces d’oiseaux, dont 83 nichent sur le site. 612 espèces d’insectes, dont 260 espèces de papillons, 24 espèces d’odonates, 24 espèces d’orthoptères, 148 espèces coléoptères.

Access

Tourbière de la Harelle is located 40 km west of Rouen, near the village of Heurteauville. There is a small free parking. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. You can also park your bike. Tourbière de la Harelle has free access all year round and 4 km of trails.
