Description

Former peat extraction site, the Romelaëre ponds form a landscape of ponds and rivers linked together by access channels, formerly used by market gardeners. The nature reserve protects around 100 hectares of land and water. Birders can observe more then 200 bird species. Amongst the birds you can see are Лунь очеретяний, Синьошийка, Рибалочка блакитний, Чапля єгипетська, Бугайчик, Баклан великий, Бугай водяний and Лелека білий.

Access

Park at the visitor center (See the P on the map) and explore the area on foot. There are different trails and there is a birdwatching hide. From the parkingplace to the birdhide is about a 2 km walk.
