Low rocky outcrops behind the hotel of Mas de l’Oulivié, supports several iconic birds of the region.
This is one of the best sites in Western Europe to see the ever-elusive Пугач палеарктичний which is quite numerous is Les Alpilles, as wel as many other species. The area is best visited in either the end of winter (when the owls are calling) or in spring (when they are breeding and the area is at it's most stunning), although the owls and many other species may be seen year-round.
From Les Baux follow the minor D78f for around 2,8 kilometres, the hotel Mas de l’Oulivié is located on the right of the road. Park on the track just left of the hotel and walk up to the rockface that appears behind it, find a good spot to overlook it. Always keep you distance and of course don't disturb the birds.
