Description
The Grée marsh is a vast wetland of 450 hectares of meadows criss-crossed by canals, which meet to the south to flow into the Loire. A path allows walkers to freely access the observatory of this rich, fragile, exceptional and highly protected site. Dry meadows in summer, large bodies of water in winter. Fed by three streams (La Motte, Aubinière and Clairet) the Grée marsh evolves with the seasons. From October to February, it suffers the floods of the Loire, giving way to a body of water of up to 400 ha. For wetland birds, the marsh is a breeding area and a migratory stopover.

Français: Le marais de Grée est une vaste zone humide de 450 ha de prairies sillonnées de canaux, qui se rejoignent au sud pour se jeter dans la Loire. Le Département de Loire-Atlantique en est propriétaire de près de 9 ha, classés espaces naturels sensibles. Un cheminement permet aux promeneurs d’accéder librement à l’observatoire de ce site riche, fragile, exceptionnel et très protégé. Des prairies sèches en été, de grandes étendues d'eau en hiver. Alimenté par trois ruisseaux (La Motte, l'Aubinière et le Clairet) le marais de Grée évolue au fil des saisons. D’octobre à février, il subit les crues de la Loire, laissant place à un plan d’eau pouvant atteindre 400 ha. L’été, l’eau se retire et les prairies s’enrichissent de fleurs et d’insectes. Pour les oiseaux des milieux humides, le marais constitue une zone de reproduction et une halte migratoire. Marais inondé en hiver, accueillant de nombreux oiseaux d'eau (canards notamment). Intérêt pour les canards.
