Description

During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of Попелюх звичайний and Чернь чубата and several hundreds of Лиска звичайна . A rarity such as the Турпан or Чернь морська is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for Баранець звичайний and Баранець малий.

In summer typical breeders include Крячок річковий and Пірникоза велика on the lake, Сорокопуд терновий in the bushes or Щеврик лучний in the grassland.

In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly Коловодник болотяний or for a Лелека чорний stopover. In spring when water level is higher, Крячок чорний , Крячок білощокий or Мартин малий are regularly seen foraging over water.
