The Haga plain is an unusual open plain for Åland with fields and a beach to Ödkarby bay.
Haga Slätten is easily accessible from different directions on public roads. It is an area of fields and beaches. Migratory birds gather here for several weeks, both in spring and autumn, e.g. large numbers of Лебідь-кликун and different types of geese like Гуска сіра, Гуска білолоба and Казарка канадська.
You can explore the area by bicycle or by car. From the roads that run through the area you have a good view on the fields.
Haga Slätten is located on the Åland Islands, an archipelago with 6,700 islands at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea belonging to Finland. You can travel by ferry from both Sweden and Finland. The shortest ferry connection from Sweden is the one from Grisslehamn with Eckerö Linjen or from Kapellskär with Viking Line. Both ferries take two hours. From Finland you can travel on ferries from Turku and Naantali both in the morning and evening. There’s a ferry connection from Helsinki to Åland as well. See the website below for more info.
