Valuable bird wetland that is popular with birdwatchers in Finland. There is a nature trail around the wetland and two bird towers to observe the birds.
Suomenoja's (or Finno) bird pools were created as a result of human activity in the former Finnoonlahti Bay. The pools provide nesting environment for many bird species – including some rarities within Finland and the EU. The symbol of the area is the Мартин звичайний. The area hosts the largest gull community in Southern Finland (estimated at 3,700 pairs) and the second largest in Finland. Other birds you can see here are Пірникоза червоношия, Соловейко східний, Гоголь зеленоголовий, Очеретянка лучна and Коловодник болотяний. And many more, see the birslist below.
There is a parking lot at the bird pools. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From the parking you can make a circular walk around the wetland (1,6 km) On the way you will pass two bird towers.
