Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like Грицик великий , Чоботар синьоногий , Набережник палеарктичний , Коловодник великий , Коловодник чорний , Коловодник болотяний , Побережник чорногрудий. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see Ремез звичайний and Сутора вусата, або синиця вусата in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like Кобилочка-цвіркун , Синьошийка , Очеретянка лучна and Очеретянка ставкова are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
