Großkirchheim is a village within the Mölltal Valley, and part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The area has green meadows, forested mountain slopes and on the bottom of the valley the Möll River. You can find birds of prey, forest birds such as Дятел звичайний, Золотомушка жовточуба, and various tit species such as Синиця чубата. Along the Möll River you can find Плиска гірська and Пронурок біловолий.
