Description

Orlestone Forest is a 347.6 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Ashford in Kent. Apart from all the usual woodland birds this is reputed to be a Kocabaş breeding location. Among the other birds you can encounter are Küçük ağaçkakan, Yeşil Ağaçkakan, Orman alaca ağaçkakanı, İspinoz, Şakrak, Karabaşlı iskete, Çalıkuşu, Bülbül (summer), Saka, Kukumav and Alaca Baykuş.

Access

There is a car park and large woodlands with some open spaces. Walking on some stone tracks and footpaths. Not good for bikes unless dry conditions in the summer months. Wheel chair access also a bit muddy in places. O/k for falilies . Dog walkers go there at times. The circular route suggested on the map below is about 4,5 km long.
