Half Moon Common - Court Copse is North West of the City of Southampton in Hampshire.
The area comprises of a large area of heathland with both deciduous and conifer woodland.
(*1), from around the car park area scan for overflying Şahin, Kerkenez, Atmaca and Kızıl Çaylak. During the Summer Arı Şahini are sometimes seen. More open areas have can have Gökçe güvercin, Ökse ardıcı, Yeşil Ağaçkakan, Çayır incirkuşu, Tarlakuşu and Orman Toygarı. Gorse (Ulex) patches have Funda Ötleğeni and Taşkuşu.
(*2), Broadleaved woodland here hold Kocabaş, Küçük ağaçkakan, Sıvacı, Orman tırmaşıkkuşu. In Summer Üveyik, Benekli sinekkapan, Kızılkuyruk, Çıvgın, Karabağlı ötleğen and Guguk can all be expected. Birch (Betula) trees can attract Çayır taşkuşu, Orman çıvgını, Boz ötleğen, Söğütbülbülü, Küçük Ak Gerdanlı Ötleğen, Ketenkuşu, Şakrak and Uzunkuyruklu baştankara.
(*3), Court Copse area, scattered scrub here on the North edge of the copse, have 'roding' Çulluk and 'churring" Çobanaldatan in the evenings. More open areas have Çayır incirkuşu and Tarlakuşu, scattered trees can have Orman Toygarı and Ağaç incirkuşu.
Be sure to check any scrubland for Sarı kirazkuşu, Taşkuşu, Ketenkuşu, Akgerdanlı ötleğen and Küçük Ak Gerdanlı Ötleğen. Conifers around the site can have Çalıkuşu, Sürmeli Çalıkuşu, Çam baştankarası, Karabaşlı iskete and the occasional Çaprazgaga.
Leave the M27 motorway at junction 2, on roundabout take exit signed Salisbury/Romsey/Fawley/A36, at next roundabout take second exit signed Salisbury/Plaitford/Wellow/A36. Continue on this road turning Left at sign for Bradshaw, pass over cattle grid onto Black Hill Road. Continue on this road and large car park (free) is on the Left.
