Dinton Pastures Country Park

Berkshire  >  United Kingdom

Dinton Pastures CP is based on a series of flooded gravel pits, with woodland and parkland. Most ponds are for active recreation but there is a nature reserve.

Description

Although the nature reserve at Sandford Lake is small, relative to the whole site, most of the common water birds can be seen, and the undergrowth is worth watching. The activity areas are also home to the more robust and tolerant waterfowl. Occasional scarcities have been observed. Another perhaps more secluded nature reserve is adjacent at Lavell's Lake Nature Reserve.
