Christow is on the Eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park, approximately 12 miles South West of the City of Exeter.
The area around Christow is a mixture of habitats. The village area, woodland, open farmland often surrounded by 'devon hedges', a younger area of woodland (press STAR on map) that frequently has a number of Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) and very narrow roads. Away from the village you are very unlikely to meet any vehicles or people.
From the South (A38 - Devon Expressway) use the B3193 heading North signed Teign Valley, this road on the valley floor follows the River Teign, unfortunately roadsigns are infrequent, on nearing Christow look for The Artichoke Inn sign on the left, turn here to enter village. The circular route indicated on the map is about 3 miles.
Roads away from the valley floor B3193 can be extremely narrow in places. On parking in Christow please park responsibly on the narrow road.
