In its lower part, the Loftaån river has created a rich wetland: the Uknö area. A great place for birdwatching.
The Loftaån river empties into Vinö glo, which is a shallow bay in the sea bay Gudingen. Today, the Uknö area is a well-known bird sanctuary with visitors from all over Sweden. Best birding is during spring and autumn with many migrating and resting birds in large numbers. During the summer there are many interesting nesting birds in the area. Even in winter, the area can be good for bird watchers, as especially large flocks of ducks are often found at Vinö glo, Gudingebaden and Bjursund. Among the interesting birds you can see here in Uknö are Çıkrıkçın, Altıngöz Sütlabi, Büyük tarakdiş, Tarakdiş, Bıldırcın, Kulaklı batağan, Çobanaldatan, Su kılavuzu, Benekli suyelvesi, Turna, Küçük su çulluğu, Çulluk, Büyük su çulluğu, Su çulluğu, Deniz düdükçünü, Kara kızılbacak, Hazar sumrusu, Balık kartalı, Arı Şahini, Kaya kartalý, Saz delicesi, Boyunçeviren, Kızılsırtlı örümcekkuşu, Büyük örümcekkuşu, Mahmuzlu kirazkuşu, Alaca kirazkuşu, Sarı kirazkuşu and Bataklık kirazkuşu.
