A very good area for birding, which is relatively easily accessible. One of West Sweden's most visited bird locations with 278 observed bird species.
Torslandaviken is located at the mouth of the Göta Älv River. It is an old bay where watercourses which flow into the sea form an estuary. In this place where sweet and saltwater meet, optimal conditions arise for many birds. As the city of Gothenburg has grown, the Port of Gothenburg dredged and expanded and oil refineries established, almost all natural conditions for extensive biodiversity in the river or estuary have decreased. Torslandaviken is therefore a last functioning remnant of the Göta Älv Estuarium. Some of the nice birds you can see here are Pufla, Ötücü kuğu, Kulaklı toygar, Altıngöz, Büyük tarakdiş, Tarakdiş, Halkalı cılıbıt, Orman düdükçünü and Döşüşkenkuş.
There is a nature trail around Torslandaviken. It is a 6.5 km long trail, which is not accessible for the disabled. There are vantage points and bird towers along the way. For places to park see the map (click on a P in the map to directly go there).
