Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Bahri, Kuğu, Saz delicesi and in some years Balaban,Kızılboyunlu batağan and Bıyıklı baştankara. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Kızıl Çaylak , Küçük ağaçkakan, Uzunkuyruklu baştankara and Sarı mukallit. During migration periods large flocks of Boz kaz , Kanada Kazı , Yeşilbaş and Çamurcun stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Şahin, Paçalı şahin, Kızıl Çaylak, Kara çaylak, Balık kartalı and Akkuyruklu kartal.
