Description
Just outside the village of Vegas Altas extensive rice fields start. The fields receive important winter concentrations of Turna and several species of waders like Çamurçulluğu, Halkalı cılıbıt, Uzunbacak, Altın yağmurcun, Küçük kumkuşu, Yeşilbacak, Döşüşkenkuş, Karakarınlı kumkuşu, Dere düdükçünü, Yeşil düdükçün, Su çulluğu and Orman düdükçünü. During the migratory passages, you can also see other wintering birds such as Mavigerdan, Dağ incirkuşu or Bataklık kirazkuşu. Other birds you can spot in the area are Bozkır örümcekkuşu, Kırmızı Mumgaga, Mumgaga and İbibik. Also many wintering birds of prey (sometimes in high densities) like Saz delicesi, Gökçe delice, Kızıl Çaylak, Ak Çaylak, Boz doğan and Kır baykuşu. Best times for a visit are winter and spring, from November to May. From June to October it can be very quiet on the fields.
