Description
The finca “La Moheda Alta” is part of the network of protected areas in Extremadura. It is an old dehesa with surrounding agricultural areas, both grain fields and rice fields. A walk has been plotted in the area that ends at a bird watching screen. From there the rice fields can be overlooked, which is especially interesting in winter because of the large numbers of Turna that forage here. At the beginning is an information center about the area. In autumn the annual Turna festival “festival de las Grullas” is organized here. The area is interesting in winter because of the Turna , but a visit is also worthwhile in other seasons. There are also regularly other birds on the fields: waders, Kara leylek and sometimes Flamingo are seen here. The dehesa itself is at its best in the spring. This is where the typical dehesa birds live: İbibik, İberya Saksağan, Bozkır örümcekkuşu and Kızıl Başlı Örümcekkuşu.
