Description
Jakubovské rybníky are 2 fish ponds in the plain between the Morava River and the Little Carpathians mountain range. The ponds are surrounded by reed beds, coniferous forests on sand dunes and open grassland with scattered shrubs. Commonly seen species include Akkuyruklu kartal, Balık kartalı, Kerkenez and Büyük ak balýkçýl. A wide path runs along both ponds with a good view of the water. You can take a circular walk of approximately 3 km around the western pond, visiting all the biotopes.

Access
Jakubovské rybníky are located 30 km north of Bratislava. The ponds can be reached by car from the road between Plavecký Štvrtok and Malacky via an unpaved road in good condition. Limited parking is available at the buildings on the dam between the two ponds. You follow the same route by bicycle.
The area can be reached by public transport (bus) from Jakubov. Get off at the stop "Jakubov, Hlavná", walk east via Hlavná and after 150m turn right into Krybníkom. After 1.5 km along the canal you will come to the first pond.
