A small nature reserve. The rainwater is kept in the area as much as possible. De Blikken is very easy to see from the surrounding dyke Ringdijk.
The abundance of water in De Blikken attracts many ducks and geese in winter. Fiyu and Sakarca graze on the banks. Small waders scavenge their food along the muddy banks. In the spring, meadow birds such as Kızkuşu and Çamurçulluğu nest here. Hundreds of Karabağ martı and dozens of Karaboyunlu batağan Karaboyunlu bataðan and Kılıçgaga breed on the centrally located islands. The number of breeding Akyanaklý kaz is increasing every year.
