Description
Ragakāpa Nature Park is a protected area in order to preserve the dunes covered with ancient pine forests and biodiversity on the sea coast. Two nature trails have been established. One of the trails runs through the pine forest, is about 2 km long and mostly consists of wooden boardwalks. There are also information stands and benches, and in its steepest places - stairs. Among the birds that can be spotted in the area are Ortanca Ağaçkakan, Kara ağaçkakan, Gökçe güvercin, Orman Toygarı and if you are lucky Kır incirkuşu and along the beach birds like Poyrazkuşu, Halkalı cılıbıt and Sumru.

Access
Located 10 km northwest of Riga in the town of Jurmela. By car: through Vikingu Street to Tīklu Street, the car can be left in the parking lot at Jurmala Open-Air Museum on Tīklu Street 1a. Click on the P in the map to get directions. By bus-minibus: No. 5 “Kemeri station-Buļļuciems”. The park is open all year round and entrance is free. Next to the wooden boardwalks, there are many other paths to explore the area. On the map you see a circular trail of 3,5 km.
