Description

Spring and autumn are best for this oasis. Passerines include Kara Kulaklı Kuyrukkakan, Kızıl Başlı Örümcekkuşu, Akyanaklı arapbülbülü, Tepeli toygar, Maskeli Ötleğen, Akgözlü ötleğen and Bozkır Ötleğeni. Wetland birds include 3 species of egret, Benekli suyelvesi, Bataklýk suyelvesi, Bıldırcın kılavuzu, Gece Balikçili, Erguvani balýkçýl and Alaca Balikçil, Kara leylek and Leylek. In the surrounding desert there may be Bıldırcın, Kocagöz, Kızıl akbaba, Bozkır delicesi, Tavşancıl, Sina çütresi, Desert Owl and Arap kızılkanadı. There is a raised walkway, hides and a cycle track.

Access

By road the site is 70 miles east of Amman, where day tours, car hire and taxi hire are available. Advice is to carry plenty of water and avoid midday heat. The cycle route is 12 km and the raised walkway 3/4 of a km.
