The town of Massarella is situated on the south west edges of a lake and marshland area called Padule of Fucecchio which is the largest internal marshland in Italy and is a protected nature preserve. From Massarella it is easy to explore the southern part of the marsh area and see birds like Karabatak, Leylek,Gri balýkçýl, Büyük ak balýkçýl, Kaşıkçı, Küçük ak balýkçýl, Sığır balıkçılı, Yeşilbaş and Saz delicesi.
