Beautiful National Park with good paths to do an easy hike and enjoying the place. The area has the common Icelandic avifauna and some rarer species.
Thingvellir is a very beautiful national park where you can do an easy hike on the northern shore of the Thingvallavatn lake enjoying the geological and historycal value of the place and its amazing avifauna. Among the birds you can encounter are Buz Dalgýcý, Kýzýlgerdanlý dalgýç, Tarakdiş, Altın yağmurcun, Boz kaz, Dağ Kartavuğu, Kızıl ardıç, Ötücü kuğu, Deniz düdükçünü and many others.
The best way for getting to the place is by car. You can park in the parking zone where, at least in summer, you have to do a small fee. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. There are different short routes to hike around.
