Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Telkuyruk, Tepeli Karabatak, Sümsükkuþu, küçük alk, palyaço ördeği and Tarakdiş. You might also see Kýzýlgerdanlý dalgýç and Buz Dalgýcý. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Amerika Kadife Ördeği every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Alaca kirazkuşu might pass, and along the rocks there might be Kara Alk.
