Description
In winter, the Hurstsee is home to a great number and variety of ducks and other waterbirds. There are good numbers (between 15 and 100+) of Yeşilbaş, Boz ördek, Tepeli patka, Elmabaş patka, Sakarmeke and Karabatak.
Smaller groups of Çamurcun and Bahri can usually be seen scattered across the lake. Nil kazi and Kuğu are often present, as well as Büyük ak balýkçýl, Gri balýkçýl, Yalıçapkını and Dağ kuyruksallayanı along the fringes of the lake.
With a bit of luck, you can also see Büyük tarakdiş, Fiyu, Kilkuyruk, Çıkrıkçın (on spring migration) or even a stunning Sütlabi here!
Waterbirds are the main attraction, but the trees and bushes around the lake are worth checking too. There are plenty of common woodland / garden birds, plus a good chance of seeing (or hearing) any of the following: Karabaşlı iskete, Kocabaş, Şakrak, Dağ Bülbülü, Sürmeli Çalıkuşu, Kızıl ardıç and Kara ağaçkakan.
